Office of the President

Units in the President’s Office

As chief executive officer, community liaison, and the public face of California State University, Monterey Bay, the president holds many responsibilities. The president works closely with the CSU’s systemwide office and represents the campus on the Senior Leadership Council. CSUMB has several units within the Office of the President to assist with these responsibilities. These units are: Strategic Initiatives, University Personnel, Inclusive Excellence and Sustainability, Bright Futures, and Information Technology.

University Personnel

University Personnel is the unit under the Office of the President that recruits, retains, and develops highly-engaged faculty and staff members. UP aspires to be a trusted resource and is committed to fostering a campus community where all can flourish.

Bright Futures

Bright Futures is a community partnership of diverse members fostering progress in education outcomes for local students, from cradle to career, and improving the pipeline of quality talent within Monterey County.

Inclusive Excellence and Sustainability

The goal of this unit is to advance excellence at CSUMB through diversity, equity, and inclusion. It promotes diversity as an asset that enhances student learning and employee effectiveness. The team’s work is focused on promoting a campus environment where all students, faculty, and staff feel welcome, engaged, and able to achieve their goals.

Information Technology

The Informational Technology unit is a provider of technical services and support to the campus community. IT helps the campus community study, teach, and work through the use of informational technology. The team keeps computers working, keeps the network fast, and keeps information secure.

Strategic Initiatives

Through its Government Affairs and Community Outreach subunits, the University Affairs, Ceremonies, and Events unit serves as a liaison between the university and the government and broader community. By highlighting CSUMB as a valuable community resource and economic contributor to the region and state, the UACE team establishes greater support for the university.
