Community Classes & Outreach

The department’s mission “is to protect life and property with a commitment to professionalism and community cooperation,” and through recent endeavors, have practically applied its efforts through the creation of new programs and the development of various campus partnerships. Since then, UPD has coordinated, participated in, and hosted many community (campus and local) outreach events, totaling over an estimated 7,800 community attendees. Some of these occasions (e.g. Rape Aggression Defense, National Collegiate Awareness Week, CPR/AED training, and the Associated Students’ SLUTWALK) are known to the campus. Nevertheless, the general campus community is unaware of other (e.g. Coffee with a Cop, round-table and panelist discussions,ride-along opportunities) attempts to be involved in the community on a consistent basis.

The Crime Prevention Office and UPD encourages you to do your part to build a bridge.

If you are interested in UPD presenting to or training your department, or you wish to work collaboratively with UPD to serve the campus community via event, campaign, initiative, panel discussion or classroom dialogue, contact the department at upd@csumb.edu.
