Transfer Students

Registration For Orientation

Congratulations on becoming an Otter! You will able to register for orientation later in March. Please keep in mind that the transfer orientation dates are listed below so that you can plan accordingly. See you at orientation!

Welcome to California State University Monterey Bay! We are excited to welcome you to our campus where over a quarter of all our students transferred here to join our Otter family. CSUMB is a great place to be and we can't wait to tell and show you more about our university at New Student Otter Orientation!

Also, head over to our Class of '20 Facebook page or Class of '21 Facebook Page (there is one for every year) to meet some of your new classmates! You are welcome to join both!

New Student Otter Orientation - Transfer Students

It is expected that all new transfer students attend New Student Otter Orientation prior to beginning their first semester at CSUMB. We offer programs to transfer students in December to those starting Spring semester, and in June to students starting Fall semester. At New Student Otter Orientation, you will learn about CSUMB-specific policies, programs and services to assist your involvement and academics, as well as meet fellow colleagues. You will also receive a tour to acclimate you to the campus, and you will have an opportunity to speak with advisors from your major. Attending orientation also provides you with priority course registration. You will meet campus leaders and get to know the resources that are available to you.

Coming back to CSUMB

If you are a new incoming student that was admitted to CSUMB in a previous term, and have attended an orientation within the last academic year, you do not need to attend orientation. However, attending orientation is the only way to receive priority registration. If you have attended an orientation in the past and would like to attend another, you will need to contact us so that we can clear your previous orientation reservation. You can do so by sending us an email at or by calling our office at 831-582-4693.
