Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month 2017
April is here and so is Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month! Check out CSUMB's programs and events this year.

We will be creating 1000 paper cranes to hang. This is from an old Japanese legend that 1000 paper cranes grants a wish. We will be creating the cranes and placing them in a tree to display to students and educate them on API countries and culture.

Join APIA as we celebrate API Heritage Month! Come learn about APIA and the other events in our week as well as watch performances and demonstrations and learn about other API countries from other organizations on campus!

Come learn from API faculty and staff on campus and their experience growing up and who they are and any struggles they have faced fo being API. This allows students to know other resources on campus as well as get to know faculty and staff on a personal level.

Holi is a Hindu spring festival in India and Nepal, also known as the "festival of colours" or the "festival of love". The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships, and is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a good harvest. Come join APIA in our annual Holi festival!

APIA will be hosting a luau to celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander cultures. We’ll be working with the Dining Commons to serve cultural foods and outside groups to showcase dances of API cultures.
