Faculty and staff global opportunities

The International Programs Office strives to enrich opportunities for CSUMB's faculty and staff mobility as part of professional development at partner universities worldwide.

These opportunities include teaching, research, workshops, Fulbright, and/or other international fellowships.

Not only does the International Programs Office offers support and guidance for faculty and staff throught the process, but the office aids in identifying resources and funding available to support initiatives and research in non-U.S. settings.

    Universidad de La Salle - Summer Visiting Scholar

    Universidad de La Salle - Colombia is pleased to announce opportunities to teach through their International La Salle Summer Academy – 2020: Rethinking the Future, during June 8 - 19, 2020. The invitation is addressed to faculty members around the world interested in participating as visiting scholars. The language of instruction is English.

    Staff from Abroad - Masaryk University

    Through various forms of agreements, study abroad programmes, membership in university networks and specific research projects, Masaryk University has links with universities in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Australia.

    Masaryk's Center for International Cooperation website provides information about the main possibilities for cooperation open to teaching and research staff as well as administrative staff.

    Staff Weeks at Faculty of Education & Social Studies - VIA University College

    The Faculty of Education & Social Studies consists of four departments: The Department of Teacher Education, Social Education, Social Work & Public Administration. Each year each of the departments will arrange their own Staff Weeks with differing themes, and this provides the opportunity for our partners to choose one or more Staff Weeks that fit their area of interest the most.

    The programme normally consists of an introduction to VIA University College, presentations and work-shops regarding relevant theoretical, practical and contemporary topics, visits to institutions, networking activities, cultural and social events.

    International Teaching Week(s) at PSB Paris School of Business - Spring 2020

    PSB Paris School of Business invites CSUMB faculty to their first International Education Week(s)! This is a unique opportunity for you to teach in Paris and discover the city of lights.

    PSB is looking for visiting professors in the following disciplines: Accounting; Digital Business; Entrepreneurship; Finance; Management; Marketing; other business majors.

    Candidates are expected to teach graduate students. PSB faculty is open to international research collaborations. For more information about PSB's Research Projects, check out their Faculty Website.

    HfWU Nuertingen-Geislingen University - Visiting Professorship Program

    Thanks to a generous donation by the Educational Foundation of Kreissparkasse (KSK) Esslingen-Nürtingen for Esslingen County, Nuertingen-Geislingen University will be able to offer a Visiting Professorship to our partner universities.

    The program started in the winter semester 2013/2014 and will be running for 10 years. For more information, please contact Carola Staib.

    Opportunities for Visiting Professors

    Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences believes that exposing students to the teaching methods of international visiting professors improves the quality of the student experience. Therefore, we integrate international colleagues into our teaching and learning processes.

    Come for a week, a summer university, or even for a semester, bring your students with you or come by yourself! International visiting professors are always welcome at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

    Summer Visiting Faculty: John Cabot University

    John Cabot University (JCU) holds two 5-week summer sessions every summer and they invite visiting faculty from University Partners like CSUMB to teach. Each summer they host about 30-40 visiting faculty who teach along with JCU’s own local faculty, creating a vibrant, collegial and enjoyable community of educators. Visiting faculty continue their work from any of their faculty offices, library, or Tiber Café. They may also be helpful for your own internationalization strategies.

    Japan

    Nanzan University - Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) Visiting Faculty Program

    The Nanzan University Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) Visiting Faculty Program is accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year.

    In order to strengthen collaborative efforts with its student exchange partner schools, Nanzan University invites from among its partner schools faculty members in the field of Japanese Area Studies to teach at least one class in the CJS and to carry his or her research in exchange for remuneration for courses taught and a modest stipend.

    South Korea

    Summer Visiting Scholar Program: Kyungpook National University

    The Office of International Affairs at KNU invites international faculty to submit course proposals for their 3-week Summer School before November 15, 2019.

    Summer Visiting Professor: Chonnam National University

    CSUMB is invited to nominate up to a total of three (3) applicants for the 2020 CNU International Summer Session.

    In 2019, CNU offered 24 courses in their International Summer Session, for which they invited 15 international scholars and 9 CNU professors to teach and 130 international students from 22 countries to study along with 400 local students.

  • CSU IP Resident Director

    Each year the CSU International Programs recruits faculty to serve as Resident Directors (RDs) in a number of its study abroad programs. These positions represent one of the best chances within the CSU to work and live for a year in the following countries: France, Italy and Spain.     CSU IP International Faculty Seminar

    The CSU IP International Faculty Seminars sponsored by the California State University through the Academic Council on International Programs (ACIP) are designed to provide international experiences for faculty of diverse disciplines from all CSU campuses. The mission of the CSU International Programs (CSU IP), a system-wide unit operating from within the CSU Chancellor's Office in Long Beach, is to develop intercultural communication skills and international understanding among CSU students and faculty.   • Fulbright U.S. scholar programs

    The Fulbright U.S. scholar program offers nearly 470 teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 125 countries. Opportunities are available fo college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others. In addition to several new program models designed to meet the changing needs of U.S. academics and professionals, Fulbright is offering more opportunities for flexible, multi-country grants.

    DAAD - Visiting Professorship (Germany)

    This program serves to strengthen the internationalization of the educational experience for scholars, host institutions, and students by welcoming educators from North America to university campuses in Germany for guest lectureships. The advent of international degree programs, as well as the distinguished traditional curricula at German universities, Fachhochschulen, and arts colleges, provide myriad opportunities for professors from the United States to contribute their topical expertise and teaching methods.
