About Cynthia P. Schneider

A Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at Georgetown University, Ambassador Cynthia P Schneider teaches, publishes, and organizes initiatives in the field of cultural diplomacy. The former US Ambassador to the Netherlands is recognized for co-directing the Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown; MOST (Muslims on Screen and Television) Resource, based in Los Angeles; and the Timbuktu Renaissance, a Mali-based initiative to support Mali’s recovery from conflict through a focus on culture. Dr. Schneider’s speeches and writings about diplomacy and culture range from a TED talk on the global impact of American Idol to policy papers for the Brookings Institution and op eds in the Los Angeles Times.
