Pebble Beach Special Event Management Team
This experience will provide Sustainable Hospitality Management students a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills while managing a team in Hospitality. As a Hospitality Manager for the Pebble Beach Special Event Management Team (SEMT), students will work directly with Pebble Beach representatives to manage, plan, coordinate, and oversee these hospitality areas at the finest exhibition of show cars in the world.
Since 1950, Pebble Beach has been host to what is quite simply the finest exhibition of show cars in the world. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance - held each August on the 18th Fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links - is an annual gathering of rare and antique automobiles, international automotive luminaries and motorcar enthusiasts from around the globe. It is an event of dazzling elegance, appropriately held at a resort famous for both its beauty and its refinement. Originally a small social event paired with a road race through the pine and cypress forests of Pebble Beach, this event has grown into the top ranking collector car competition in the world. The Concours is not a contest of speed, but of elegance. Automobiles are judged for their historical accuracy, their technical merit and their style - and the best garner reward and recognition.
It is truly exciting that California State University Monterey Bay has the opportunity to participate in this incredible event. We are looking for some of CSUMB’s most responsible, enthusiastic, and professional students to join the Special Event Management Team.
Hospitality Managers’ Responsibilities
- Responsible for management and oversight of corporate clients.
- Hosting VIP Guests in Corporate Hospitalities called Hospitality Patios.
- Responsible for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and bar/beverage service coordination.
- Interact with clients, servers, bartenders, and culinary individuals to ensure a flawless guest experience.
- Manage Pebble Beach staff and temporary employees.

This opportunity is an internship class and if selected, students will need to enroll in BUS 498: Internship (1-6 units) for the Fall 2020 semester.
Prerequisites: Students must be Juniors or Seniors and selected by the Pebble Beach Staff and Special Event Management Committee. Priority given to SHM majors.

Applications will be accepted beginning January 27, 2020 after 1:00 pm. The application is due no later than midnight, March 1, 2020 (or until application slots are filled). Applications received after this deadline are not eligible and will not be considered. Once all applications are received, they will be reviewed and you may be contacted for an interview; interviews will be held on March 10, 2020. After the interview process, students will be selected for specific positions for the Special Event Management Team.
