Althea SullyCole, Assistant Professor in the Music & Performing Arts Department, is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and ethnomusicologist from New York City. She studied her primary instrument, the 21-stringed West African harp called the kora, under korists Yacouba Sissoko and Edou Manga and spent 3 years studying the instrument in Dakar, Senegal. Her trio includes Alec Saelens, a guitarist from Brussels, Belgium, and Ras Moshe, composer and multi-instrumentalist, specializing in saxophone and flute, from Brooklyn, New York.
