I was born in Mexico City and migrated with my family to the U.S at the age of four. I was raised in San Jose California my entire childhood and early adulthood. Growing up in a large Latino immigrant populated county served to shape my understanding of systematic and racial injustices. From an early age I have been passionate about social justice and particularly the undocumented migrant community.
I began pursuing higher education through San Jose City College and soon transferred to California State University Monterey Bay. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Social Behavioral Science, Concentration in Sociology. As a first generation graduate, my hopes are to fill the gaps that the underrepresented students attending CSUMB face on a day to day basis, especially now that our undocumented communities are under attack. Families need to stay together, they deserve to live without fear and they deserve to have an education.
Our Existence is Our Resistance.
