Rick transferred to CSU Monterey Bay from the San Diego Community College District in the spring of 2013. He chose to Major in Social & Behavior Sciences and fell into working with geospatial technologies. After the completion of his first GIS course he became a student intern in the Campus Planning & Development Department. He was then hired to organize and update their GIS database. Upon graduating Fall 2014, he was hired on as Staff, today Rick works to support the Universities needs through the implementation of new geospatial technologies by gathering, organizing and analyzing spatial data. These departments include: Campus Planning & Development, Facilities Services & Operations, University Police, Information Technology, Campus Communications, Residential Life. Some of his duties include GPS data collection, site suitability, location allocation, spatial analysis, infrastructure mapping, CAD As-Builts, asset inspections and much more. Rick works to leverage access to existing ESRI GIS technologies to streamline business workflows, facilitate collaboration and improve communication between departments.
Rick is currently enrolled in the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning program at San Jose State University.
