Each academic year, the Service Learning Institute hosts an event for students, faculty, parents, community partners and members to recognize and celebrate the power of service learning throughout the year at CSUMB. Catalyst Center staff are given the opportunity to recognize one student group for their exceptional service involvement. For the 2014-2015 academic year the recipient chosen was the CSUMB Rotaract Club.
CSUMB Rotaract Club
Modeled after the goals and standards of Rotary, the CSUMB Rotaract Club brings together college students and young business professionals for humanitarian service, networking, building goodwill and promoting peace around the world. The CSUMB Rotaract Club has completed over 800 hours of community service and have raised over $1,000 for March of Dimes during the 2014-2015 academic year. Rotaract's community engagement outreach includes but is not limited to collaborations with: Dance dash 5k, Central Coast Veterans Cemetery Foundation, the Salvation Army, Jaycee's Children Shopping Tour, the Senior Sunrise Center and the Hope Services Ball.
