Associate Vice President Christopher Placco, AIA, is an architect and urban designer with experience in private practice and university leadership. During his 20 years in private practice he specialized in university, library, and public building planning and design. After developing master plans for several educational institutions, Chris joined a New England university where he spent over ten years creating master plans and implementing long-term growth strategies for a multi-campus system.
Our mission is to create an academic environment by providing new and renovated buildings and spaces which will encourage learning and growth. In harmony with the Vision of California State University Monterey Bay, growth will be geared to foster sensitivity to the environment, to the cultures within the global community, to the role of technology in the global lifestyle, and to stimulate students, faculty and staff to strive for excellence.
