CalStateTEACH is a California State University ONLINE Multiple Subject Teacher Education Program for individuals interested in becoming elementary school teachers.
We are a non-traditional program that offers both a student teaching and an intern program for qualified candidates interested in earning their multiple subject preliminary teaching credential without attending traditional college classes. Instead, the integrated curriculum is delivered online.
CalStateTEACH participants will receive an iPad II with access to downloading all course materials. Participants share ideas through web-based "class discussions" and get feedback from other students, as well as faculty.
Since 2011, CalStateTEACH has been a recognized Apple Distinguished Program in Higher Education.
Our program is the winner of the 2014 Best Practice Award for the Innovative Use of Technology from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). The prestigious national award honors the program’s success in bridging the theory and practice of educator preparation through the use of technology.
CalStateTEACH students participate in field experience/student teaching from the very beginning and get professional feedback through on-site coaching from mentor teachers at their school site. Participants also enjoy personal guidance, as well as regular observations and support from CSU faculty members.
Candidates to CalStateTEACH can enter the program in any term: Fall, Spring, or Summer. We have a full summer term. Refer to Calendar for entry dates and deadlines.
Comprehensive support is provided for students preparing for California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET).
