University Center Ballroom
The Department of Visual and Public Art at California State University, Monterey Bay invites you to join us for the Day of the Dead. We will gather this November 1 at the University Center Ballroom at 6pm for an evening of dance performance, colorful displays, live music, traditional snacks, reflection, and commemoration.
Members of the community are encouraged to learn more about the ancient cultural traditions of this holiday, as well as to participate by building personal altars and adding images of their loved ones who have passed on to our Wall of Remembrance.

Una Ópera Muerta
A Dead Opera in four Acts
This hybrid performance fuses dark humored animation with traditional mariachi, hip hop, bossa nova and blues conceived and created by director/librettist John Jota Leaños, composer Cristóbal Martinez, the Mariachi quartet Los Cuatro Vientos, and actor Sean Levon Nash.
