TRIO Student Support Services

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) and SSS STEM-Health Sciences are federally funded programs through the U.S. Department of Education. Our mission is to contribute to the success of first generation, low-income students, and individuals with disabilities by supporting and empowering program participants in their academic, personal, and professional growth.

Eligibility:

SSS students must meet at least ONE of the following qualifications:

• First generation student (parents do not have a bachelor's degree) OR
• Low income (no more than 150% above the federal poverty level) OR
• Have a documented disability

TRIO Works!

TRIO SSS has been at CSUMB since 2001. Today, we offer two programs - TRIO SSS, serving students in all majors, and TRIO SSS STEM-Health Sciences - and support nearly 300 participants every year.

Over the last 5 years, our students have averaged a 96% good academic standing rate, 95% persistence rate, and 82% graduation rate!

TRIO SSS is 100% federally funded by the US Department of Education.
