Communicating compassionately, engaging globally
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences creates an inclusive, accessible environment that empowers students to critically examine their place in the world, find their people, and to collaboratively imagine, co-create and transform the world around them.
Our faculty provide individualized mentorship opportunities to students who are engaged global citizens that study humanity through the lens of art, music, film, communications, language and psychology. Our graduates apply interdisciplinary knowledge, values and skills, equipping them to provide creative, compassionate and socially responsible solutions for the future.
Sharing sweet sounds of seaside jazz
Through an ongoing partnership with the Monterey Jazz Festival, faculty and students in our program enjoy access to one of the premier jazz festivals in the world — with guest speakers, personalized internships, and special performances just for our students. It’s “an experience you can’t get anywhere else.”
