Is Admitted Otter Day mandatory?
Admitted Otter Day is not mandatory but is encouraged. This is a preview day for admitted Fall 2024 students and their families to visit and tour campus. Those students who commit to attending CSUMB will be invited to a mandatory Orientation in June.
What time does this event begin/end?
This year, we are offering two identical sessions. The morning session will last from 9am - 12pm. The afternoon session will be from 1pm-4pm.
Where should I go when I arrive on campus?
Parking Lot 59. ADA parking will be available in Lot 19
What should I bring?
CSUMB has a commitment to sustainability and we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle or travel mug for beverages. There are hydration stations available throughout campus.
Where can I park, and will I have to pay?
Parking will be complimentary for our visitors and registered attendees will receive a parking permit to print and display on their dashboard. All vehicles will park in Lot 59 for the event.
What if I require assistance getting to and from a location?
Our on campus shuttle, The Wave, will be operating throughout the day to assist you in getting to and from our various locations.
Will food be provided?
We will offer light continental refreshments that morning. We will also have various food trucks and campus eateries open with food/drinks for purchase.
Will I be able to commit to attend CSUMB on this day?
Yes! We will have an area where students can submit their Intent to Enroll and receive some CSUMB swag once they do.
Will I be able to tour campus buildings?
We will have both campus and housing tours available for those who are interested. These will be led by student staff and will be administered based on a wristband system to ensure flow and a pleasant tour experience.
Can I bring my family?
Yes, we encourage students to bring their families to this event.
Can we bring dogs to this event?
Although we love our fur babies, only service animals will be allowed on this day.
What happens if I don't RSVP?
We strongly encourage all students to RSVP so that our campus can plan accordingly.
Can I still attend this event even if I am not sure if I will be choosing CSUMB?
Absolutely! This event is to give students a preview of CSUMB and all that it has to offer. We hope you will choose CSUMB!
What should I wear?
Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. Our weather can be unpredictable in April, so dress in layers and check the forecast before arriving on campus! Our CSUMB Campus Store will also be open if you would like to purchase CSUMB gear.
