California State University Monterey Bay invites applications for the M.A. in Education.  Applications for Fall semester are due April 1st,  applications for Spring semester are due November 1.

Admission into the program is competitive. The admission criteria include the following:

1. Completion of a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university.  Admission and Records will verify your prior degree and your GPA.

2. Grade point average of at least 2.75 at the undergraduate level and 3.00 at the post-baccalaureate level. Those who do not meet these minimum GPA requirements, but are otherwise strong candidates, may request Provisional Admission.

3.  Match between your background and professional goals, and our program. We will assess this match on the basis of your professional goal statement and your letters of recommendation.

4. Successful substantive prior work or personal experience that reflects some of the program's core outcomes

What about transfer credits?
Students may transfer in up to two graduate courses that are no more than 7 years old at the time of the student's proposed graduation, and that fit the general focus of the program. Students with courses that are older than 7 years may be able to do some additional work to demonstrate that they have kept current in the field that the credits represent.  Students will need to submit a syllabus or course description of any requested transfer credits.
